(THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. — Sept. 23, 2024) Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing how companies do business. With Generative AI, 50% of today’s business activities could be automated 10 years earlier than previously estimated, research suggests. It will likely affect hours, tasks and responsibilities for workers across wage rates and educational backgrounds. Already, organizations using ChatGPT report that tasks are completed 25% faster and with more than 40% higher-quality results. To help companies adapt to the new AI reality, on Oct. 10 the School of Management at California Lutheran University will present “AI in the Workplace: Navigating Challenges and Embracing Opportunities.” The ninth annual Executive Talent Management Forum event will bring together academic speakers and industry leaders to explore how AI has altered the many facets of management. The event will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and held in Lundring Events Center on the Cal Lutheran campus.
“As AI is adopted across industries for automation, decision-making and data-driven insights, we will see growth rates that very few sectors have ever seen,” said Gerhard Apfelthaler, dean of the School of Management at Cal Lutheran. “By 2030, the global AI market is expected to expand to $1.3 trillion.”
Panel moderator Susan Lundeen, chief people officer, Allogene Therapeutics, will explore best practices for incorporating AI with panelists Shafia Hayek, vice president of HR and admin technology, PennyMac Loan Services; Chris Meissner, president, Meissner Corporation (USA); and Andrew Powers, Thousand Oaks city manager.
Aaron Anderson, president, Brandes Associates Inc., will be the industry keynote speaker. He will focus on how to prepare organizations for an AI-enabled future by upskilling employees, maintaining a positive workplace culture, protecting intellectual property and guiding the initial stages of AI adoption, particularly in talent management and decision-making processes. Anderson is known for his strategic vision and ability to lead teams to success.
Vlad Vaiman, Ph.D., professor in the School of Management at Cal Lutheran, is a leading international scholar in the field of talent management. He will deliver the academic keynote, discussing the role of AI in workforce management.
At the event, attendees will learn about the latest trends in talent management, participate in a round-table discussion, share their organization’s talent management challenges and gain valuable perspectives from academic and industry leaders.
The forum will include breakfast, lunch and networking opportunities. Tickets are $95; Cal Lutheran alumni tickets are $65. The event is free for Cal Lutheran students, faculty and staff. Registration is required. To register, visit Executivetalent.net/buy-tickets. Cal Lutheran is located at 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.
